The chemist at Salt Lake Metals used to be a forum member, and I think he got the formula from a reference I posted. It is called the Turkevich method and has been used for 50+ years. It works ok, and produces good CG, BUT its slower than the maltodexrin method and required a full boil. I posted a youtube video showing it done years ago. For many years, it was the standard way to make colloidal gold in the lab. If you have trisodium citrate, give it a try.
The maltodextrin method is faster and produces as good of a result in about the same amount of time it takes to make a cup of coffee.
