Stirrer and heat plate recommendations
« on: January 21, 2013, 12:28:54 AM »
Referring to Silvertron Jr:
After reading info on site, I'm wondering if a stirrer/ hotplate is warranted? I have seen some models on ebay used, and was wondering if this is necessary or practical. Is there any advantage to have heat while processing? Is there a reasonably priced model that you can recommend? Ebay has quite a few listed.
Thanks!

http://www.stirstarters.com has reasonably priced mag stirrers made from pc fans.  A magnetic stirrer is a valuable addition to a colloidal silver makers kit.  It is far more valuable than TDS meters and laser pointers.

There is a Chinese model heated hotplate with magnetic stirrer often available on eBay.  It is model SH-2.  I bought one of these many years ago, and it lasted 5 years before the heater burned out.
There is the unknown and the unknowable.  It's a wise man who knows the difference.
