I like this bit !

"The observed antiviral effect of silver nanoparticles was due to the nanoparticles,
rather than just to the silver ions present in the solution. In fact silver salts exerting antibacterial effect
through silver ions, inhibited HIV-1 with a therapeutic index 12 times lower than the one of silver
nanoparticles."

Yay for 320 capped!

(sorry, back to reading!)

It is worth noting that the linked to study used silver nanoparticles in the size range of 1 to 10 nm and suggested that this was the size that worked against HIV with an implication that larger particle size might not be effective or possibly not as effective. The silver nanoparticles that we make are thought to be larger than 1 to 10 nm  and thus may not be effective or as effective as the size used in the study. Particles below 10 nm as used in the study, are also known to be more toxic to normal human cells.

In a later study, Lara et al used a particle size in the 30 to 50 nm size and got very positive results against HIV also, suggesting that Kephra's finished product  NP's using his generators and production methods may be just the right size to avoid toxicity to normal cells and still effectively attack HIV!

Here is a link to that second study which is also archived on this forum from years ago:
