But you said you added 5 drops of Karo.
Dextrose is just plain glucose, and is not as good as Karo.
Karo corn syrup is half glucose and half maltose.
Also, a half teaspoon of dextrose is a huge amount compared to 5 drops of corn syrup.

o okay i try to stay away from corn syrups thats all so i didnt buy it - i mean its not alot going in there anyways so i can bite the bullet and get some

i saw this post so i thought dextrose would be better

Don't use the dextrose...  Karo is the reducing agent.
You need the keep the solution hot continuously.

okay thanks i am pretty sure that i put to much electrolyte - ill try again in a little bit

i could only get around 8v when the negative was pretty much just touching the water - and i was moving around the positive and that wasn't changing anything

the dextrose is the reducing agent

i was using your mason jar cutout which looks 1.5 inches so ill continue to use that and try less electrolyte

I just want to make sure cause i see others in the forum appear to be keeping heat on while the electrolysis is running - Can i add the gelatin stir for 5 minutes  then go simmer / to a near boil - then take it off and come back and add the dextrose and start the electrolysis?

and when i was making the 20 ppm i did the electrolysis first then I  boiled the water and added the dextrose guessing that part of the order doesn't matter as long as the water is hot?

If you can't get the voltage up to 10, you probably have too much electrolyte, or your electrolyte is too strong.

How deep in the water is your negative electrode, and how far for your positive?

Why did you add dextrose?

If you space your electrodes farther apart, then you need to increase the minimum voltage.  10 volts minimum is for a spacing of 1.5 inches.

so i couldnt get the silvertron to work properly reading 10 to 20v

first i tried this

Start with 250ml cold distilled water in a 250 ml beaker
Add 2 grams beef gelatin, let sit for 5 minutes.
stirred with a magnetic stirrer
Then heated  to a simmer... on a stove cause the stirrer isnt a hot plate as well
Add 5 drops electrolyte. -Washing soda and distilled water mixture - prob put closer to 7 drops
Add minimum 5 drops Karo corn syrup. Half teaspoon of dextrose ( put in a bit more than half a teaspoon
put the mason jar cap on the beaker popped in both silver to start to the black and the red
Start electrolysis.

could only get about 4 to 5 reading  - the silver rod went reeally black

red a few things about trying a thinner cable

i cut up some coax and stripped it and got better - around 8v

have any suggestions on this? i cant really seperate the nodes apart any further being that it is a thin 250ml beaker. does the electrolye or the dextrose affect the resistance causing a lower voltage or am i missing something?

Ill follow up with some pics too

So here is what I have and gonna try and hope this works

Modified Kephra's notes

Start with 250ml cold distilled water.
Add 2 grams beef gelatin, let sit for 5 minutes.
Heat with stirring to a simmer.... boiling not necessary. I'll put it in a pot and slowly bring to simmer.
Add 5 drops electrolyte. -Washing soda and distilled water mixture
Add minimum 5 drops Karo corn syrup. Half teaspoon of dextrose
Put it mason jar stick silver and Cath(a)nodes on and set to 320mm 6ma and
Start electrolysis.

Great Lakes Gelatin Collagen Hydrolysate (Kosher) 454-Grams (Canadian Labelling) https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07BQBLH69/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_PRhyBbB1F6B14

Actually this might not work and I might have to go with the straight gelatin beef option.

So I am thinking to actually form the gelatin has to heat up ...hydrolyzed collagen does not need heat to absorb but I'm not sure if it interacts the same way to stabilize the silver...for instance it's not normally used for gelling things sand the same properties that help stabilize the silver could be the same thing that stabalizes the silver... I'm not a rocket surgeon just yet...perhaps one day when I have time when the kids are grown up

Thanks all!

I would have thought that a kosher store might have certified kosher beef gelatine. That would be a good place to start, anyway.
