Title: a question about 320 ppm production
Post by: Art on March 25, 2016, 10:22:10 PM
Kephra,

I was wondering if once a batch of 320 ppm is complete on the SilverTron E , can it be put through a full 320 ppm cycle again to make it 640 ppm or would there be a loss of quality or some other problem such as over saturation and agglomeration?

Yes, you can do that.  Just make sure you have enough stabilizer.

How much is "enough stabilizer"?

Try 1 gram.  If that doesn't work, try 1.5.  I think 1 gram will though.

Well, on the surface it would seem like you should use twice as much as you do for 320 PPM.
Kephra recently stated that he uses 1 gm for 250 ml of 320 PPM. So then for 640 PPM you would use 2 gm. Seems like that will be "enough" but the question would be that you might be crossing over into the JELLO realm??

Before you make the 640 PPM colloidal silver you might want to make up some plain DW with that much gelatin in it to check out the consistency. If 2 gm in 250 ml is too Jello-like then you might have to settle for 480 PPM with 1.5 gm gelatin. OR you could try 620 PPM with 1.5 gm.  What's the worst that could happen? Even 1.5 gm gelatin in 250 ml might be fairly thick so you might want to pre-test that amount also.

Don't forget to double your normal amount of reducer (for 320 PPM) also.

Should I double the electrolyte also?

No, the electrolyte is always the same.

I guess I got the new scale just in time.......my old one was just a little wonky for anything but grams on the button :)!

Okay, so I'll try one gram gelatin  with 5 drops of  electrolyte and 10 drops of Karo 50% in 250 ml of water and see what happens. 8)
If that doesn't work out quite right, I'll try 1.5 grams of gelatin in the next batch.

Thank you both!

 Time Out, Art,

250 ml = 1/4 L so that should be 5 drops of EL.

1 ml/L of 1 Molar Sodium Carbonate.

20 drops ~ = 1 ml.

Have you been using double the amount of electrolyte all along?

You're right, Rick, I got that wrong......I have been using five drops of electrolyte and 5 drops of Karo 50% for the 320 ppm. I think the reason I got those numbers wrong is because I have been making a 500ml batch of colloidal gold each day and I have been using 10 drops each for that. I keep an instruction sheet with my equipment for each type of brew that I normally make so that I don't get confused when brewing.  I guess I should keep copies of those sheets at my computer too! I hope the gold kicks in soon! ;D
Thanks for catching my mistake.
I'll go back to that post and correct it so others don't get confused by it.

But,....But,......Now my post makes no sense  ;)
But,.....If I go change my post then your latest post makes no sense.
This is worse than Schrodinger's cat.
We may need a Physicist to help us figure this out.

Please keep us posted on your impressions of using colloidal gold. Daily dosage and any effects you are noticing.

Rick, you need to calm down and destress instead of worrying about the cat.  Here is the way physics says to handle that:

That's a problem I can't seem to solve very well anymore  :(

First my sharp eyesight. Then the hair on top my noggin. Now my math abilities.

What's the next thing to go?
