Hello, i made a batch red (not so concentrated) and i put half in a glass... and half capped with gelatin (unflavored and without any color), when i add it... my colloid turns (instantly) violet  :o :o it is normal or i made a mistake? (250mg gelatin in 250ml colloidal gold), maybe it was too much? any ideas? thanks and excluse my english please.  ;)

And this is before the gelatine.

Since you did not detail your process, we cannot be sure.

You certainly have a large excess of gelatin.

Here is a better way:
Dissolve 1 gram of gelatin in 250ml distilled water.

Use 1 tablespoon of this gelatin mixture per liter of hot colloidal gold.

Store the gelatin mixture in a refrigerator to prevent spoilage.

Kephra Thanks for your response, when you add gelatin to RUBY RED colloidal gold... it must stay the same color? i prepared colloidal gold by electrolisis:
- 400ml DW aprox.
- 0.5ML electrolite (sodium carbonate diluted as documented)
- 30V 170ma (electrodes was very closer to each other, copper cathode)

It was red.... but then i added 250mg pure gelatin (without flavor/color/sugars) and instantly turned violet... now it is with a "mix" of red and some violet "tint" (but almost strong red), i think i put so much gelatin  :-\ but... if it's capped... then i think it's all right  :)

This is the gold right now... i added 10% of colloidal silver (it was a little yellow) for conservation.

It should remain ruby red.  A color shift to violet or blue means the particles have grown in size.

Yes, i though that too... but i think if that "big molecule" reach the gut... the bacteria there will "eat" the gelatin and gold is going to be "released", so i think there's no problem at all, what do you think? if it's about the color change... for me it is good... the main thing is that the colloidal gold would work  ;).

I mixed a little of that "mix" (colloidal gold capped) with 500mg of salt and there's no interaction, no color changes, is still cristal clear.

It is the same color... with 500mg of salt added to test.

I think you are on the right track.
To be honest, I have never tested gel capping gold made by electrolysis.  Since gold chloride is so easy to get here, I always make mine by reducing gold chloride.  But I think you have just proved that it does work.

I understand, i will keep trying this batch and see if it works, we are two or three persons that consumes colloidal gold every day  :D so we will see if there's some difference or something. Thanks Kephra for your help!!!!
