Hello. I am new to colloidal production. I got into this by purchasing the SilverLungs generator that is commercially available. I have made several batches of ionic and one of metallic silver with it so far using their dextrin reducing agent. I did read a post here earlier where you claimed that using the nebulizer that the generator comes with in ionic form would precipitate silver oxide dust into the lungs, and your reaction to this potential did not seem positive.
Inhaling silver oxide does not seem like a good idea to me. First, there is the safety data sheet which says
3 - Hazards NFPA 704
Health Rating: 2 - Intense or continued but not chronic exposure could cause temporary incapacitation or possible residual injury.
Flammability Rating: 0 - None
Reactivity Rating: 1 - Normally stable, but releases oxygen at temperatures above 280°C (536°F).
Contact Rating: 3 - Severe (Corrosive). Avoid skin contact, especially if skin is wet or moist.
Lab Protective Equip: Safety goggles and/or face shield. Latex gloves. Good ventilation.
Storage Color Code: Yellow (Reactive)
Secondly, a nebulizer requires a prescription to get in the US. So it looks like that company is selling medical equipment illegally. Third, there is no research which shows that inhaled silver oxide is effective; this is a totally untested delivery route. The lungs are evolved to transmit gases, not solid particles of chemicals. And lastly, lab research shows that the concentration of silver needs to reach at least several ppm to be effective. A person cannot possible breathe in that much silver, so it won't reach effective levels in the blood. Whether you do it or not is your choice of course. I chose not to.
Would there be a difference in nebulizing the reduced metallic silver versus the ionic batch that the company recommends you use? They claim that nebulizing is the fastest way to deliver the silver into your bloodstream, and I do admit that I feel a slight alteration after consuming it in this manner, for the better, though this could definitely just be mental persuasion on my part.
Yes, the placebo effect is always a consideration.
The latest lab research says that metallic silver is more effective than ionic, but why would it be absorbed through the lungs?
I have noticed that using the CS the last two times I became ill has resulted in a much faster than historical average healing and recovery time for my body based on my experience, and that is what initially prompted me to buy the generator. I am afraid now that the nebulizer was a horrible purchase and would appreciate any guidance you may have. Hopefully I can learn more from this site and become better at this craft and keep myself safe at the same time. I have two classes of general chemistry and one of organic chemistry in college under my belt, though it has been several years, so I am definitely excited to learn more.
Colloidal gold is also of great interest to me. Other sites out there claim that it is impossible to produce true colloidal gold at home and that the equipment to do so costs hundreds of thousands of dollars, but your excellent forum here seems to provide valuable information that contradicts these claims and some production methods that seem simple enough starting with the gold chloride.
Lab researchers have been making colloidal gold using chemical reduction for 50 years -- the Turkevich method. I have found historical references to making it by reducing gold chloride with tin in the 1600's. People who sell the stuff want you to believe that it is difficult to make so as to justify their high prices. There are only four ways to make it: An underwater plasma arc, laser ablation, and chemical reduction, and communition. All of the research in the past century has been done with CG produced by chemical reduction. Even electrolysis is a chemical reduction process, the only difference being that electricity takes the place of nitric acid in the making of the gold chloride. I have certainly demonstrated often enough how easy it is and other members on this forum have readily duplicated it with comparatively very little equipment and expense.
The bottom line and my rule of thumb is to disregard what colloidal gold and silver sales sites say. They are the worst source of information. If you want to find quality information. Never google colloidals, instead google AgNP, AuNP, "silver nanoparticle", and "gold nanoparticle". That's the way the colloids are referenced in the science literature.
I admit my newbie status may cause me to make some outlandish statements based on what I have heard elsewhere, so please do not judge me too harshly. It is difficult to figure out what is legitimate information and what is noise and garbage on the internet these days. I appreciate all the knowledge and advice you fine people can impart, and I am grateful for being allowed a registration on this forum.
Everyone is a newbie at first, as was I.
