my cs setup
« on: February 08, 2012, 12:45:41 pm »
Today I finally "finished" my cs setup. Although I had a very annoying hitch at the end. The constant current pcb suddenly decided not to work anymore, while I tested it some months ago and it worked fine. I haven't even used it since the test.
Anyway The constant current box already had an analog ammeter and potmeter installed so I could just regulate it like that. The disadvantage is that the power supply does not have enough voltage now since the pcb also boosted the voltage.
For now it's working at 11mA.
Might either buy a higher voltage supply or a new constant current/voltage booster pcb.

Is that a homemade magnetic stirrer?
Sorry to hear about your current regulator.  Do you have the schematic?

I really don't get it I build, tested and shelved it, then now a few months later it's dead.

The one in your link does not step up the voltage according to its description.  To get  30 volts out you would have to put 35 volts in.  Maybe you bought a different model.

That is the one I bought and to me it looks exactly the same as the previous. I'm very sure it boost the voltage as the input voltage I used was a 12V power adapter and I vividly remember adjusting the trimmer pot to give maximum output voltage which was around 30V.
