Were you using a constant current regulator?  If you were not, its possible that your ionic content was more than you had enough reducing agent to react with.  IE: your silver may have been a lot stronger than you thought.

I mistakenly diluted the cs i  made with the ph machine with tap water. At the time all seemed fine, but next day it turned a thick muddy color.


I left the mess cs in the jar until today, then dumped it. There was a residue in the bottom and up the side about a half inch. Before dumping the liquid it looks very dark brown. But after dumping and letting it dry out the residue looks like chrome! or dull silver. I scaped some of with a wooden spoon and applied to my hand and it just appeared black.

Have made a new batch with the ph balance water and it looks great too.
